Canon Rebel XSi - 12.2MP - EOS - DSLR with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black)

The Canon Rebel XSi is one of those cameras that has everyone raving about it. It’s light weight yet doesn’t feel like it’s going to break in half like a lot of digital camera. The camera, while similar to the older Canon Rebel XS model, has more bells and whistles, plus it had a few other upgrades that won’t appear in the tech specs. One of these is the definite click when you press a button. It’s a nice, tactile feeling that lets you know for certain you’ve selected an option or taken a picture. The button arrangement and size of the camera is another nice feature that is rarely mentioned. Everything is clearly labeled and intuitively placed.

For amateur photographers who don’t want to delve into the various settings on the camera, the automatic features are a life saver. The Auto ISO function, for example, automatically sets the light sensitivity. What does this mean? Basically, when combined with a few other settings, it means you can go from taking images of your kid’s sports games to family pictures without changing a lot of settings manually.

Finally, the Canon Rebel XSi has been praised for having amazing battery life. In fact, it’s possible to take hundreds, if not thousands, of images before changing the battery. If you have a tendency to leave the battery charger at home when going on vacation, you won’t have to worry about running out of power. All of these benefits plus the XSi’s other features make it a camera that is both a solid beginner DSLR and affordable.

While this isn’t the ultimate, top of the line camera, it is an easy to use camera that is perfect for photographers or parents wanting to capture those precious moments in life.

Both professional and amateur photographers have found the Canon EOS Rebel XS to be a solid camera. The camera is at a more reasonable price than some of the so-called "fancier" models but nevertheless, even a professional photographer will find this camera to be more than a match for more expensive models. The Rebel XS is a camera that does a fantastic job and at 10.1 megapixels the clarity and level of detail are second-to-none. There are also a number of lenses that work with the Rebel XS as well.

For amateur photographers, the Canon Rebel XS provides the ability to take great pictures anywhere. When compared to other digital cameras of the same quality, the Rebel XS is lighter in weight and smaller in size, two things that come into play on long vacations. Another thing many like about the camera is that it’s fairly quiet, so parents don’t have to worry about annoying others at recitals or plays. No matter what you need the Rebel XS for it’s a very solid, very versatile camera.
